Michelle Niesen is a board-certified Physician Assistant with several years of clinical experience. Michelle earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1996, followed by a Master of Science degree as a Physician Assistant from The Chicago Medical School/Rosalind Franklin University in 1998. She received the Physician Assistant Departmental Thesis Award in 1998 with her Masters’ Thesis titled “Treating Obesity as a Chronic Medical Condition”. Michelle is board-certified in General Medicine and holds a special certification in Surgery.
After graduation, Michelle came back to her hometown of Sauk Prairie and joined the Prairie Clinic, as a Physician Assistant in Family Medicine. Michelle worked at Prairie Clinic for over 12 years where she developed a busy, patient-focused practice. She continued honing her skills in general medicine and discovered a passion for hands-on procedures with a dermatology focus. She specialized in treating difficult skin conditions such as acne, rosacea, dermatitis/eczema, allergies and skin growths.
Michelle joined a busy cosmetic dermatology clinic in Madison, Wisconsin in early 2010. Excited to have so many “tools” to treat multiple dermatology concerns, she quickly became skilled in the use of lasers and light therapies. Michelle loves the idea of using natural “light” to stimulate the body’s healing and repair process. With the use of lasers and other technologies, she can achieve amazing results with skin conditions such as acne, rosacea and sun damage.
Along with general dermatology, Michelle has also become skilled in the rapidly-improving, innovative science of anti-aging therapies with both laser and injectable treatments. Michelle has found that minimally-invasive cosmetic procedures compared with plastic surgery is preferred by most people. The treatments result in a more natural-looking, youthful appearance with very little downtime, risk and more reasonable cost compared to surgery.
Michelle believes continuing education is the key to providing the best patient care and outcomes. She has attended several post-graduate dermatology training conferences and seminars throughout the country, learning new and effective minimally-invasive cosmetic procedures and treatments. Michelle is considered a “master-injector” with many people traveling across several states to have treatments. Because of her experience and talents, Rejuvenation Clinic is able to offer Artefill, a long-lasting dermal filler only available in a few exclusive clinics throughout the country. Michelle has also adapted the innovative approach of “needle free” blunt-tip cannula method for injectable treatments that allows patients to have multiple syringes of filler with very little pain, bruising or swelling.
Michelle finds it a privilege to take care of her patients, loves the challenge of developing a unique plan for each individual and feels rewarded to see her patients’ self-esteem blossom with each visit.
